Tour of the French Alps by campervan

The famous Alpine road in a fully furnished campervan! Without a doubt the most prestigious route you could dream of in France. From Lake Geneva, to the shores of the Mediterranea, almost along the crest line of the Alps! A route of more than 700 kilometers, 17 major passes, crossing three national parks, from Thonon-les-Bains to Menton. A roadtrip that should be planned for a week minimum to take full advantage of it.

You will be able to eat famous cheese: "Reblochon" in Arravis and Abondance in Chablais, and cross the "Gorges du Pont du Diable". Not to be missed along the way is a look at the "Chartreuse du Reposoir" (after Scionzier) and the panorama from the Colombière passes (1,613 m), especially Aravis's where the view opens onto the Mont-Blanc massif, rooftop of Europe !

Until the Col d'Iseran, stop to enjoy ones of the major ski resorts such as Val Thorens, La Plagne, Les Arcs, Les Menuires, Courchevel, Méribel...

After Iseran, the Col du Galibier and its 2,646 meters awaits you. Pass by the Maurienne Valley, along the southern flank of the Vanoise and admire the landscape from Belvédère. Stop at Bonneval to see this ancient village, and take some souvenir photos.

The trip continues on the "Col du Vars". Then descending towards the Briançonnais, we follow the northeast face of the Écrins national park, parading at the bottom of the Bar des Écrins and Pelvoux. For its ramparts and its citadel, Briançon is worth a stop. We will then descend the "Gorges de la Combe du Queyras" to Guillestre where the road climbs very steeply to the Col de Vars.

From the "Col de Vars" until the Mediterranean, we descend the Hubaye valley by the Bonnette road, reputed to be the highest in France. Cross the Mercantour Park, and join the Col Saint Martin to see beautiful alpine landscapes.

Take a detour to the Authion massif at 2078 meters and admire the view of the southern Alps.

After a stop at Sospel, the Col de Castillon marks the start of the dive towards the sea.

Your trip ends in Menton, on the Mediterranean coast… Have a good trip!
