19 April 2022

Driving in Corsica is already an adventure in itself, there is no straight line! Hence the interest of doing this trip in a van rather than a motorhome, the van being much more manageable. Wherever you are, you can enjoy the superb landscapes mixing sea and mountain. Stretching over more than 900 kilometers of coastline, the panoramas of the island of beauty have nothing to envy to those of the Côte d’Azur. It is one of the most beautiful destination for a road trip.

Start your journey in Balagne, northwest of Corsica. Here you will find Calvi, this city that combines French elegance and the sun of Italy. Île Rousse, where you can enjoy walks to the Pietra lighthouse and its breathtaking view of the Balagne coastline. Not to mention the Agriates desert and its heavenly beaches.

Direction then towards the center west. The Gulf of Porto, a UNESCO heritage site, will make you see spectacular landscapes that will take your breath away! Take a van ride through the famous Calanques de Piana and its steep red cliffs. Discover the protected reserve of Scandola, the village of Evisa and the route of the Spelunca gorges. Finally, Cargèse and its idyllic beaches: the perfect place to admire the sunsets and immortalize them forever.

Head down the west coast to Ajaccio for a boat trip to the Iles Sanguinaires, sunbathe on one of the pristine white sand beaches that line the coast and visit the village of Sartène where the deep Corsican character takes root.

Continue your way to southern Corsica towards Bonifacio and its spectacle of the imposing white limestone cliffs, the Lavezzi Islands as well as the popular beaches of Palombaggia, Rondinara and Tamaricciu. Don’t forget to give yourself a breath of fresh air in the Gorges de Solenzara in the hollow of the river or in the famous Aiguilles de Bavella, at the top of the mountains.

Traveling up the east coast, you will discover the historic town of Corte and its citadel. Famous hiking trails await you! The narrow valley of the Restonica, in the heart of Corsica, offers many possibilities for swimming and hiking. The old villages of the Castagniccia region are not to be missed.
